Dominoes on Arcadia (Coming Soon)
Dominoes is a tile-laying strategy game where you win through control of open ends, blocking, and managing your hand.
Arcadia marks Dominoes as coming soon, but the fundamentals below cover what actually wins: predicting suits and locking opponents out of moves.
How to Play (High-Level)
- Play a tile that matches an open end.
- If you cannot play, draw or pass depending on the variant.
- A round ends when someone empties their hand or the board blocks.
- Score often comes from remaining pip totals or round points.
Core Rules
- Tiles must match an open end value.
- The board grows from the open ends.
- If no legal move exists, the ruleset decides draw/pass behavior.
- Many variants score based on remaining pips at round end.
Strategy: Blocking & Open-End Control
- Track which values are disappearing.
- Keep flexibility: don’t dump all of one value too early.
- Create board shapes that favor values you still hold.
- Blocking at the right moment can win a round without emptying your hand.
Beginner Tips
- Count what’s been played; that’s your information.
- When ahead, simplify and avoid giving the opponent an easy outlet.
- When behind, keep the board open and search for a swing block.
