BALUT

The Game

Balut is a classic five-dice game popular in the Philippines and Scandinavia. You and the AI each fill seven categories on the scorecard. Whoever scores more total points wins.

Each Turn

Roll five dice up to three times. Between rolls, tap any die to hold (or release) it. After your final roll, pick a category on your scorecard to lock in that score.

Categories

Fours / Fives / Sixes — score that value × the count of matching dice (e.g., three 6s = 18).

Straight — 1-2-3-4-5 scores 15, and 2-3-4-5-6 scores 20. Any other roll scores 0.

Full House — three of one kind plus two of another scores the sum of all five dice. Otherwise 0.

Choice — any combination; scores the sum of all five dice.

Balut — five of a kind scores 20 plus the sum of the dice (e.g., five 6s = 50).

Tip

Every category must be used. If none fit well, pick your least painful category and score zero — the choice is yours.
