BUNCO

The Classic Party Dice Game

◆ AMERICAN PARLOR · 1855 ◆

1 SIX ROUNDS

The game is played in six rounds. In each round, you're hunting a target number — round 1 you're rolling for 1s, round 2 for 2s, all the way up to 6s.

2 ROLL & SCORE

Roll three dice on your turn. Each die that matches the target scores 1 point. Keep rolling as long as you score — your turn ends only when you roll zero matches.

3 BUNCO!

Roll three of the target number = BUNCO for 21 points and the round! Three of any other number = Mini Bunco for 5 points. First to 21 points wins the round.

HOW TO PLAY

The Game

Bunco is a fast, social dice game played with three dice across six rounds. Each round has a target number — round 1 hunts 1s, round 2 hunts 2s, and so on up to round 6.

Your Turn

Roll three dice. Each die showing the target number is worth 1 point. Keep rolling as long as you score points. The instant you roll all three dice without matching the target, your turn ends and the opponent rolls.

Bunco

If all three dice show the target number, it's a BUNCO! — instantly worth 21 points and the round.

Mini Bunco

If all three dice match each other but aren't the target (for example, three 5s in round 3), it's a Mini Bunco worth 5 points.

Round End

The first player to reach 21 points wins the round. Winning a round shifts focus to the next target. After six rounds, the most rounds won decides the night.

Strategy

There isn't much. Bunco is pure dice luck — that's why it's been a parlor classic since 1855.
