The Street Game of Egypt
Still drawn in the sand from Cairo to Khartoum

DROP & TRAP

Place your twelve stones two at a time (the center stays empty). Then step your stones one square and trap enemies between two of yours.

CHAIN STRIKES

A capturing stone may keep striking as long as it can capture again. The center is a safe haven where nothing can be taken.

HOW TO PLAY
Seega — Egyptian custodian-capture game

THE DROP

Players alternate placing two stones per turn on any empty square except the center, until all twenty-four stones are down. No captures happen during the drop.

MOVING & CAPTURING

Stones step one square along a row or column. Trap an enemy stone between the stone you moved and another of your stones to capture it. A capturing stone may keep striking as long as new captures are available — or end your turn early.

THE CENTER

The marked center square is a safe haven: a stone standing on it can never be captured. It cannot be used during the drop phase.

WINNING

Capture every enemy stone, or block the Scribe so he has no legal move. If 50 moves pass without a capture, the side with more stones wins.
