El Juego Argentino
◆ ARGENTINA · 18TH CENTURY ◆
Each hand is three tricks. Win two of three to take the hand. The 40-card Spanish deck has its own rank order — the 1 of Espadas is king of the deck.
Before the first card flies, either player can call Envido — a side bet on points (20 + sum of two cards in the same suit). Accept or reject. Highest envido wins the bet.
Anytime before a card is played, raise the stakes: Truco (2 pts), Re-truco (3 pts), Vale Cuatro (4 pts). Reject and the caller banks the lower stake — accept and the duel intensifies. First to 15 wins the match.
